Gold coins combine the intrinsic value of precious metal with historical significance and collectability. Our range includes modern bullion coins produced for investment, as well as dated, proof and graded coins for collectors.
Key coins in our range include the Gold Sovereign (7.32g of 22ct gold, minted since 1817), the Gold Britannia (1oz of 999.9 fine gold), and a rotating selection of commemorative and limited-edition issues. All Royal Mint coins carry UK legal tender status, meaning they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax regardless of profit, and exempt from VAT as investment gold.
Non-UK coins such as Krugerrands, American Eagles and Canadian Maples are also VAT-exempt as investment gold, but are subject to CGT on gains above the annual allowance (£3,000 for 2025/26).
Tax rules may change. It is the investor’s responsibility to declare any CGT. Please consult a qualified tax advisor.
