In 1902, to celebrate the Coronation of King Edward VII, the Royal Mint released a special St George and the Dragon £5 Five Pound Sovereign Gold Matte Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.

The reverse design depicts Pistrucci's St George Slaying the Dragon, while the obverse features George William De Saulles portrait of King Edward VII.
