More info about our 1989 Tudor Rose £5 Pound Quintuple Sovereign Gold Proof Coin Loose Coin

Own a landmark Royal Mint release with this 1989 brilliant uncirculated gold Five Sovereign, struck to mark the 500th anniversary of the Sovereign. First introduced by Henry VII in 1489, the historic Sovereign inspired the modern series launched in 1817. This commemorative Quintuple Sovereign features a one-year-only design by Bernard Sindall, replacing the usual portrait and St George reverse with Tudor-inspired motifs. The obverse shows Queen Elizabeth II seated on a throne in full-length, framed by Gothic script, while the reverse depicts the crowned royal arms on a Tudor rose, unusually including the word Sovereign in the legend. A tiny 'U' mintmark below the throne confirms the brilliant uncirculated finish. Struck in 39.94 grams of 22-carat gold, this special £5 issue is part of a limited edition mintage of 2,937 coins. Please not the coin will be sold in a coin holder without originaL packing, we would grade at between PF65-67, more photos available by request.
